It is our policy to review the medications of all patients once a year.

We do this for several reasons:

• A better alternative to your medication may have become available.
• You may no longer need all the medications you are receiving.
• You may require monitoring to ensure that your medication is both working and doing you no harm.

If you receive repeat prescriptions a due date for your review is printed on the right hand (white) side of the prescription.  If you request medication after this date the doctor will review your medical notes.  If necessary you may be asked to make an appointment with a doctor or practice nurse.  You may have been seen recently at the hospital or the practice.  In this situation the doctor is likely to issue your medications and change the review date.
